My first 30 days as BRR CEO
Thirty days ago, I began my journey as Chief Executive Officer of Boise Regional REALTORS® with a commitment to listen and learn. My first month has confirmed what drew me to BRR: a strong association, dedicated leaders and staff, and a REALTOR® Family that cares deeply about our profession and the communities we serve.
What I have focused on
- Listening to members and volunteer leaders through Board, committee, brokerage, and individual conversations.
- Getting to know our staff, learning their roles and strengths, and beginning the team-building work needed to serve members well.
- Meeting with brokers and industry partners to better understand the challenges and opportunities facing our members.
- Representing BRR at the NAR Leadership Summit, Association Executives Assembly, Brokers Council of Idaho, and policy-related meetings.
These conversations have reinforced that BRR has a strong foundation in advocacy, education, communication, professionalism, and leadership. My role is to build on that foundation and help ensure your association remains relevant as the industry changes.
Where we are headed
Our Strategic Plan gives us the right direction: champion real estate, elevate professionalism, and empower your success through advocacy, education, and connections. In practice, that means:
- Communicating in ways that earn your attention and make BRR’s value easier to see and use.
- Helping members understand technology, including artificial intelligence, while strengthening the trust, judgment, and relationships that set REALTORS® apart.
- Building proactive relationships with policymakers and mobilizing our 5,700-plus members around private property rights, housing accessibility, and homeownership.
- Connecting REALTORS® with one another, their communities, resources, policymakers, and the consumers who rely on their expertise.
I am still listening and learning, and I want to hear from you. What is working? What needs to evolve? What should BRR be doing that we are not doing today?
