Call for Volunteer Leadership

Through volunteer service, you will gain valuable industry insights, improved leadership skills, and build professional relationships with other leaders — locally, nationally, and across the state — that, in turn, can help you in your own business and other volunteer commitments. 

While Volunteer Leadership Applications are open year-round, to be considered for the following year, all applications must be received no later than May 31st.

Each year, members are appointed or elected to serve as volunteer leaders on association boards through the following process: 

 

BRR, IR, NAR, and Foundation Directors

May — While Volunteer Leadership Applications are open year-round, to be considered for the following year, all applications must be received no later than May 31st. Applications reviewed by staff for eligibility and list of candidates provided to BRR’s Nominating and Elections Committee (NEC); the NEC will send a list of recommended and eligible candidates to BRR’s Board of Directors, first reviewed (and if necessary, proposed amendments put forth) by BRR’s Executive Committee.

July/August — Approval of slate of candidates by BRR’s Board of Directors; Candidates announced to membership twenty-one (21) calendar days before election opens. 

August/September — Online election by membership opens fourteen (14) calendar days before BRR’s Annual Membership Meeting, closing at 11:59 p.m. the night before the Annual Membership Meeting; Election results announced at Annual Membership Meeting as part of the Member Expo.
